AFN Annual General Assembly Information

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is convening the 43rd Annual General Assembly (AGA) hosted in Vancouver, British Columbia, Territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh and taking place in person and virtually July 5-7, 2022 with dialogue sessions on July 4, 2022.

Chiefs from across the country generally come together twice a year to set strategic direction based on First Nations’ needs and priorities. The Chiefs Assemblies provide a venue for First Nations leaders to direct the work of the AFN, the National Chief and Executive Committee through resolutions. It is just one way First Nations leaders bring forward concerns and priorities of First Nations members.

In accordance with the Charter of the Assembly of First Nations and the by-laws of the National Indian Brotherhood, an Annual General Assembly is to be held in June or July of every year.
